Processing Pipeline

The conventional wool-processing pipeline had to be revised significantly to satisfy the standards demanded by i-merino.

Additional measures had to be taken to eliminate any possibility of i-merino wool being contaminated with inferior quality wool or extraneous elements.

The conventional wool processing pipeline (Fig 1) was also not flexible enough to recognize the requirements of the global outdoor industry, and making the pipeline more responsive and transparent has been central to the development of our Quality Assurance program.

The streamlined i-merino processing pipeline (Fig 2) results in higher quality fabrics produced more efficiently with lower impact on the environment.

The entire i-merino production chain is monitored by an online production tracking system. The system is accessible to our customers and provides the transparency and integrity to deliver the i-merino fabrics to the agreed quality. The same system also tracks the environmental standards for the production chain.

Conventiaonal wool processing pipeline

The conventional wool-processing pipeline is very segmented and not conducive to the transparent flow of information from one sector to another, yet this information is essential to the overall efficiency of the pipeline.

Improved merino processing

The i-merino wool processing pipeline allows for the transparent flow of information, eliminates many costly stages, and minimizes any risk of contamination from inferior wool.
